ASL 101 - Beginning American Sign Language I Credit(s): 3 An introduction to American Sign Language (ASL) that is designed for students to acquire an understanding of deaf culture, history, fingerspelling, basic vocabulary, and the development of basic expressive and receptive skills. The instructor utilizes several methods for teaching, which may include: review sessions, books, quizzes/tests, games/puzzles, and videos. Field trips maybe required. Designed for students with little or no previous knowledge of ASL.
