NURS 301 - Pharmacology Credit(s): 4 The course provides a study of the nurse’s role and responsibilities in clinical pharmacology. The course focuses on the major drug classifications; principles of drug actions, interactions, and reactions; contraindications; monitoring parameters, and nursing implications. This course will prepare the student to safely administer medications, monitor drug therapy and teach the client to safely take part in his/her drug regimen. Current trends in pharmacologic therapy will be discussed.
Prerequisites: Admission to the BSN or RN-BSN nursing program. Course Level: Undergraduate
