NURS 363 - Adult Health Nursing II Credit(s): 5 This course continues to develop the clinical nursing and reasoning skills essential for the nurse to deliver safe, high-quality care of adult and gerontological patients with acute and chronic health alterations. Students will learn the assessment and management of patient problems related to the gastrointestinal system, regulatory mechanisms, urinary function, and perioperative care. Concepts related to communication skills, patient teaching, evidence-based practice, ethical/legal/economic issues, and quality, safety, and patient-centered care are threaded throughout the content. During the clinical portion, the student will use critical thinking skills in providing quality comprehensive care in multiple clinical settings.
Prerequisites: Successful completion of NURS 313 with a grade of “C” or better. Course Level: Undergraduate Hours: 90 clinical hours.
