SPSC 212 - Nutrition Credit(s): 3 This course will cover the basic principles of nutrition for health, wellness, and fitness. The course will explore the six basic nutrient classes (Protein, Carbohydrate, Fat, Vitamins, Minerals, Water); the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s plan for a balanced diet (MyPlate.gov); the Food and Drug Administration’s food labeling regulations; and various popular diets proposed for health, performance, or weight loss.
