The required coursework for the biology major (BS) and each concentration in addition to the core curriculum and special requirements from the General Education Curriculum. Students planning to apply to graduate school in the biological sciences may consider BIOL 490 - Research in addition to the required courses.
Choose four lecture courses at the 200 level with BIOL, CHEM, or PHYS prefixes and their corresponding laboratory courses for a total of 16 credits.
Choose four courses at the 300-400 level with BIOL prefixes (one of which may be without a corresponding laboratory) for a total of 15-16 credits. All 300-400 level courses must have a BIOL prefix.
Students who take BIOL251/251L and BIOL252/252L in the 200 level component may not take BIOL302/302L and BIOL304/304L in the 300 level component OR Students who take BIOL302/302L and BIOL304/304L in the 300 level component may not take BIOL251/251L and BIOL252/252L.
