University Honors Minor

Students must be admitted to the program before declaring the Honors Minor. The amount of credits the student must take varies upon when the student enters the program. Freshman must take a minimum of 24 credits within the honors curriculum. Transfer students and Internal students (those who enter the program after their freshman year) must take a minimum of 14 credits.

General Education
Students who enter the program as a freshman must take 13 or more credits of the following. Transfer students and internal students must only fulfill any remaining required credits.
Must take 3 out of 4 courses:
Lab Science
Environmental Science or General Biology. Chemistry majors can use CHEM 101 /CHEM 101L to fulfill this requirement.
Upper Level Courses
Students who enter program as freshman will take 6 credits of the following. Transfer students and internal students are required to take 9 credits of the following.
- Selected (one existing course per year designated as Honors)
- Departmental (student works with professor in major on course)
- Special Topic (course created by faculty for Honors students)
Honors Core
Students take 5 credits or more.
