Independent Program of Study
If a student wishes to declare a program of study, not officially offered by the institution as their baccalaureate degree, an Independent program of study may be declared. This program must contain all the general education requirements and must include a minimum of 120 credits. Additional requirements are listed below. Applicants must have sophomore standing and at least a 2.5 GPA. Students must receive Independent Program of Study approval from their advisor and the Assistant Dean in the primary area of study. An Independent Program of Study requires a minimum of 24 hours of coursework at the 300 or 400 level.

A minimum of 21 credits in the secondary area. |
Total of 51 credits. |
Independent Program of Study with Three Areas |

A minimum of 24 credits in the primary area.*
A minimum of 18 credits in the secondary area.
A minimum of 12 credits in the tertiary area. |
Total of 54 credits. |
*Primary area must be an existing major at Tusculum University.
