Class Participation and Attendance

Students are responsible for all work from the first day of class and are expected to attend all meetings of the class for which they are registered. Participation in online, hybrid, HyFlex, student teaching, internships and clinical courses is determined by students’ completing the course enrollment agreement (CEA). Absence for whatever reason, including participation in a university-sponsored event, does not relieve a student from responsibility for any part of the work covered in the class during the period of absence.

International Students holding F1 Visas enrolled in HyFlex classes are expected to attend class in-person at least once a week and are not to take the class in a fully virtual setting.

Students with a GPA below 2.0 are discouraged from taking courses in online asynchronous formats. Residential students enrolled in HyFlex classes with a GPA below 2.0 are expected to attend class in-person at least once a week and are not to take the class in a fully virtual setting.

Students should refer to specific course syllabi for additional attendance policies.
