NURS 422 - Community Health Nursing Clinical Credit(s): 1 This course is designed to provide students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge and understanding of the outcomes of public health and healthcare systems. Students will apply the frameworks and tools necessary to engage in evidence-based practice focused on population health. Concepts of health promotion, disease prevention and risk reduction will be used along with a variety of frameworks that focus on both epidemiological and ecological models of health. Further, students will be engaged in a community-based service learning project.
Prerequisites: Admission to the nursing program and approval of the Nursing Dean. Corequisites: NURS 421 Course Level: Undergraduate Hours: 45 lab/clinical hours Pass/Fail: This course is offered on a Pass/Fail basis. Crosslistings: NURS 457
