EDUC 455 - Enhanced Student Teaching (6-12)

This course offers a full-time teaching experience in an accredited public school under the direction of a selected cooperating teacher, a Tusculum University Clinical Experience Supervisor and the Director of Field Experience. Candidates are required to observe the same schedule as that prescribed for regular classroom teachers and are expected to participate in the same activities as the cooperating teacher. Each candidate is required to complete a minimum of two placements during the entirety of the full-time student teaching experience.

Prerequisites: Meets Criteria for Student Teaching and submission of content assessment scores required by the Tennessee Department of Education for teacher certification.
Corequisites: EDUC 452
