The Tusculum University Sport Science: Pre-Athetic Training major is designed to prepare students for application to graduate athletic training programs. By completing the Pre-AT degree and meeting grade point average requirements, students will be eligible for admission to most Masters of Athletic Training (MSAT) programs.
The Pre-Athletic training curriculum is a science-based curriculum which meets the requirements for the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) accreditation standards for “prerequisite knowledge.” This coursework serves as the foundation for study in the professional/graduate program of athletic training and includes classes in biology, chemistry, physics, psychology, anatomy and physiology, nutrition, exercise physiology, statistics, and research design.
