BIOL 214 - Introduction To Geographic Information Systems Credit(s): 3 This course introduces the concepts and applications of computer-based spatial data handling, known as geographic information systems (GIS) technology. It illustrates the essential methods of GIS and its applications in fields including geography, biology, and environmental science. Students gain application skills through a series of practical exercises that illustrate problem-solving strategies and use up-to-date GIS software packages.
