CRJU 340 - Criminalistics Credit(s): 3 This course is designed to provide an overview of the field of criminalistics. Emphasis will be on recognizing various types of evidence, understanding evidence collection and preservation procedures and the legal and ethical issues surrounding the use of physical evidence in criminal proceedings. Theories related to primary analysis techniques and principles of the scientific method will also be examined. Students will also gain a greater understanding of current forensic capabilities as well as an appreciation for the relationship between law enforcement and the scientific community.
Prerequisites: CRJU 210 Course Level: Undergraduate
