NURS 401 - Gerontological Nursing Credit(s): 3 The course focuses on the normal aging process and related health care issues from an interdisciplinary perspective. Students will learn about the concepts of health promotion, prevention and adaptation for those who are aging and their families. The course also includes the role of the nurse in end-of-life care across cultures. Students will explore their personal values, beliefs and practices related to aging and the end-of-life.
Prerequisites: NURS 331 , NURS 341 , NURS 351 and NURS 363 with a grade of “C” or better. Corequisites: NURS 402 , NURS 411 and NURS 421 Course Level: Undergraduate
